In memory of William Louis “Bill” Thompson
May 31, 1940 – March 14, 2012

Bill, our friend, colleague and dedicated public servant, helped establish and build this trail and many trail systems throughout Utah, including the Shoshone, Arapeen, Conger Mountain and Outlaw.

After retiring from the U.S. Forest Service, Bill served as off-highway vehicle coordinator and trails specialist for the Division of Utah State Parks and Recreation where he helped to build some of the finest trail systems in the country, all of which are models of cooperative ATV management.

This Orange Trail, a 15-year project for Bill, is a legacy to his commitment, perseverance, and love of the outdoors.

This is located near Crystal Geyser outside Green River, Utah.
