Romrell Park

Francis and his wife Mary arrived at Bingham’s Fort in 1855. He was a shoemaker, his son, George and wife Patience arrived in November 1861.

George built a dugout in the side of a hill where their first winter was spent. Subsequently George purchased much of the land between 4th and 2nd Streets from Washington Blvd to Wall Ave.

In the following years he built four homes on this land and planted a large orchard. George was a carpenter, horticulturist and furniture turner.
