Lonnie Loveday Field

This field is dedicated in recognition of H. Lonnie Loveday, Mayor January 1978 through December 1981, and City Recreation Director 1967 through 1988, for his dedicated Service to the youth of Smithfield City Under his tireless leadership, the joy of recreation and the value of good health was woven into the fabric of Smithfield and into the hearts and minds of the people who live here. No other person has tossed more pitches to the community’s youth while encouraging each to excel.
