Just sticking this someone to look back on in the crazy case that it turns out to be right…

I’ve been wondering a lot why Dr. Doom needs to look like RDJ/Iron Man. In chats with my brother we’ve come up with a bit of a theory that in my opinion is the only thing that makes it make sense.

• Of course Tony wouldn’t just tell the Avengers he figured out time travel without having tried it to make sure it works… so where did he go to try it?

I think he went somewhere to make sure it works (maybe a bunch of trips fine tuning it, like the scenes of him learning to fly, stumbling through it…) and created branch a branch timeline or multiple. I think that variant in the branch got pruned and had endless time in the void to learn magic and figure out a way to get out of the void and over all that time because an evil Iron man, a Dr Doom.
