Located at 2734 South 1000 East in Salt Lake City, Utah – this old carriage house stands out in a residential neighborhood.
Many of the mansions of pioneer day Salt Lake had carriage houses and many still remain, I’ve heard rumors that this one was Brigham Young’s because it was in the same area as his forest farm but I haven’t seen any proof of that.
When looking into it I did find records from 2008 that there was an attempt to build a condo project here called Carriage Court.
I wish I had seen these a few months ago! My mom lived right there on 2700 So just around the corner during the 30’s and 40’s. She could have told us about it, but she just passed away a few months ago.
