Located at 105 North Main Street in Salt Lake was the Grand Central, wikipedia says: Grand Central was a chain of discount department stores founded by Maurice Warshaw (1898–1979) in Salt Lake City, Utah. Grand Central had stores in Idaho, Utah, New Mexico, Wyoming, Arizona, Nevada.[1] In 1984, Fred Meyer acquired the Grand Central chain, and a year later, Fred Meyer closed the one Wyoming Grand Central location, and sold the Arizona and New Mexico stores to Walmart.
Founder Maurice Warshaw died on January 5, 1979.
The location is now home to the LDS Conference Center.
