In 1902 the Provo Meat and Packing Company (Thomas C. Thompson, President; Elias A. Gee, vice-president; Avis Thompson, secretary; and David Openshaw, treasurer) was organized and built this building.

This two-story brick building has been neglected more than altered. The year block is intact as is the bracketted cornice. Even the date of the building is faintly visible on the strip underneath the cornice.

The lower transom has been covered and- the lower facades have been reworked- with metal, tile, wood.
