The Freedom alliance and the Utah Cultural Celebration Center share in the vision of the Friendship Statue, as a symbol of respect, progress, and cultural understanding. It represents the thousands of American and Vietnamese soldiers who brought a new era to the Vietnamese people.

The Vietnamese American community now has the right to vote, obtain a better education, enjoy freedom of speech, and religious expression. In friendship and understanding our two communities now stand together as one, and look in the same direction into the future. With this knowledge future generations will have greater opportunities for education, understanding, happiness, richer cultural experiences, and the privilege to live in freedom.
