LeRoy Dixon Home
During the 1910s, Provo changed its government from a mayor/council form to a commissioner form. In 1912 LeRoy Dixon, the owner of this home and proprietor of Dixon Real Estate, was elected as a Provo City Commissioner. He was later elected mayor in 1917 and again in 1919. He and his wife Electa lived in this home. After LeRoy’s death, Electa continued to live here. In the 1930s, Almo B. Simmons, the city treasurer, and his wife Alene, lived in the home. Alene continued to live in the home until 1977.
