When Forrest is on his run across the country he is passing through Twin Arrows, Arizona and is approached by a man wanting to put his face on T-shirts, as they get splashed with mud the man offers his the yellow one to wipe his face off since “nobody likes that color” and it creates the yellow smiley face and he goes on to make a lot of money selling the design.
