The first bank in Hyrum was owned by the people. It was named Hyrum State Bank. On August 3, 1928, the name was changed to First Security Bank of Hyrum. In 1932, E. J. Wilson purchased the building and it was remodeled into two offices. A dentist moved into the office on the east side and a medical doctor moved into the office on the west. Both doctors shared a common reception room. In the fall of 1949, both doctors moved across the street and the building was converted into apartments.*
