This home of Ivar Nielsen’s was built in the late 1890s. Olaf Nelson laid the brick, which came from a brickyard at 200 East and about 300 or 400 North. Here again we see the same arched brickwork over the windows using a different color brick. The ornate spindled woodwork in the upper gables goes one step beyond that which you just saw at Ira Williams’s. The spindled widow’s walk and ornate spindled porch have been restored. Notice Ivan’s personal touch in the upper corners of the porch. His initials, “I.N.” add a special flare to this Victorian home.
