Miners and Merchants Bank

Built in 1901, this building became the home of the Miners and Merchants Bank. L. L. Roberts, a local businessman, personally chose a light brick for the exterior so that it would be distinctive from the red-brick exteriors of the neighboring structures in the downtown business district. The bank occupied the west portion of the first floor, and S. M. Smith opened a furniture “emporium” in the east side.
