Located in Big Cottonwood Canyon, Argenta, also known as Camp Carr was a mining town that has faded away.
The historic marker Big Cottonwood Mining District mentions it: ” The nearby ghost town of Argenta – Latin for silver – had “one good hotel” and the only post office in the canyon. “
The historic marker Mississippian Marble mentions that it was thought to be a good place to build the Argenta Dam.
