This Shingle style house, probably of pattern- book design, was constructed in 1891 for V.M.C. Silva, an agent for the Red Line Transit Company. In 1899 he sold it to Henry Parry Henderson, a well-known Salt Lake City lawyer, who came to Utah in 1886 when he was appointed Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Territory of Utah by President Grover Cleveland. The extensive shingle work, all originally of wood, as well as the massing and roof forms are characteristic of this purely American architectural style.
