“Go By Train” by Greg Gochnour
Part of Ogden’s Pioneer Days 75th Celebration was to put out 60+ fiberglass horse sculptures painted in different ways. This is part of that series, the rest can be see on this page.
Located at 338 23rd Street in Ogden, Utah.

Greg Gochnour first became seriously interested in art as an undergraduate when he enrolled in a University of Utah art class taught by renowned professor and artist George Dibble. He also has taken classes through the Weber State University art department and studied with Utah artists Doug Braithwaite and Wallace Lee. Greg is employed as a family physician and director of the McKay-Dee Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program. To paint a horse for Ogden’s 75th Anniversary Pioneer Days Celebration, Greg chose the Union Station as his theme. The railroad station is not only the centerpiece of the 25th Street Historic District but is also celebrating its 85th anniversary. The painted horse features architectural details found throughout the station. Greg, a native of Salt Lake City, is married to Caitlin Kenny and has twin sons and a daughter.
