Charles Baldwin, an attorney who moved from Iowa to Utah in 1887, built this house in 1890. He
practiced law, served as president of the Utah Bar Association in 1910, and was president of the
Salt Lake Board of Education. In 1921 Louis and Sarah Thody purchased the house. Dr. Thody
was a radiologist and a pioneer in the x-ray field having organized the L.D.S. Hospital’s x-ray
department before going into business for himself.
