79 O Street

Built in 1898, this two-story brick Victorian Eclectic style home was designed by notable Salt Lake City architect Walter Ware. The home was one of four homes built in the area for Henry C. Phipps, a local businessman who used the properties for investment purposes. The house was first leased to Edward W. Genter, manager of the Utah Savings and Trust Company. Mr. Genter then subleased the property to Ernest Bamberger, who was active in mining, business, politics and civic affairs.
