This two-story Victorian-style house was built in 1891 by investors Elmer Darling and Frank McGurrin, who also built the two houses to the east of 1029 (1033 and 1037). Upon completion, the house was sold for $4,800 to “traveling agent” John A. Barker who owned it for three years. Frederick Wrathall purchased the house in 1925 and operated his taxidermy business here. The house was bought from a later owner in 1981 by Richard F. Goers who renovated both the interior and exterior,
