Dividend

First called Standard, in 1918 the new camp with about 200 men was called Dividend because the mine paid dividends regularly. Structures including a store, school, homes, boarding houses, etc. were owned by the company. It was indeed a company town.

The Tintic Standard Mine produced ore from 1913 to 1954. Total of 2,327,157 tons of ore containing 85,860 oz of gold, 51,788,528 oz of silver, 18,337,708 lbs of lead and 9,547,748 lbs of zinc. The gross value of this ore is said to exceed $80,000,000.
