Across the street from Swede Town Park in historic Swede Town, Salt Lake City is this gorgeous shell of a chapel, the Salt Lake 23rd Ward Chapel.
I heard it was built in 1913 and that the church sold it in 1969.

Love the photos. I grew up in the house next to the church. The address is 853 Duluth Ave. My great grandfather Fernstrom built that home in the early 1900’s. Thanks for sharing!
I love that house, I’ve always admired it. That’s cool to know someone connected to it.
So fun to see this church again. My mom attended church there. My grandparents owned the home right by it (872 W 1500 N) from the1930s until 1994 when my grandma passed away.
great photos, I lived across the street from the church my address 865 w. 1500 north, I was born there in 1952, my mother was born in that area in 1914,,
You might have know my grandparents George and Hannah Barnum. They lived right next to the church. I wish my mom was still here, I know she would have loved to talk to you about Swede Town.
