Wikipedia says that Axtell is an unincorporated community in Sanpete County, Utah, United States, on U.S. Route 89 between Gunnison and Salina. The town was settled in 1870 under the name of Willowcreek. It was renamed for Utah’s territorial governor Samuel Beach Axtell in 1891.
I always remember Axtell for having the 2nd smallest post office I’ve ever seen, Leamington has it beat. There was a cool old bell outside the post office with a DUP historic marker attached too. I hid a geocache up in the bell when I was there.
