The Lafayette School replacement building was used in the 1970’s as the LDS Mission Home after the earlier Mission Home (located on Main Street (where the Southeast corner of the Conference Center now stands) was vacated. I remember driving past the structure a couple of times. My own “Mission Home” week was spent in the earlier structure late October 1961.
In the 60’s and 70’s a transition was underway to transfer missionary training to Brigham Young University (beginning with foreign language training) which eventually ended in the construction of the Missionary Training Center on the Northeast section of campus.

I don’t mean to be argumentative, however, the replacement Lafayette School was torn down in 1994. I was living near 2nd Ave. and Canyon Rd. at the time. I remember watching them tear it down.
