Heber City, Neon Signs, utah, Vintage Signs, Wasatch County

Vintage Airstream Restorations & Repairs, 835 S Main in Heber City, Utah.

I’ve driven by this place many times and noticed that they have some really cool vintage neon signs, both the main sign for the business out from (that came from the old Vista Grande Motel here in Heber) and many out in the back as well. I stopped to get some photos and I was told that they came from southern Utah.

Springville, utah, utah county, Vintage Signs

At 500 S Main in Springville, Utah is a cool, vintage looking sign that says Villa. It was the South Villa Motel but I’m trying to research it for more history.

These 3 photos were taken by M. Lee Taylor in 2004 when it was the Wagon Wheel:

This vintage neon sign, a curved arrow above the entrance to Reg Iguana 2 was previously above the entrance to the West Side Drug Store.

I thought it was cool that it has been preserved and stopped by to document it.

Jack & Jill Bowling Lanes opened in 1957, the vintage sign is about 50 feet tall on a 14 foot pole, the business moved in 1984 to this location (105 S 700 E in American Fork, Utah) and the sign came with it.

The old sign for Club Rendezvous is still up (2020) next to the road near the Jiffylube. The club was demolished in I think 2019 or 2020.

The Bamberger

Simon Bamberger conceived the idea of a local railroad between Salt Lake City and Ogden. When the line came to Bountiful in 1892 it became an important factor in the city’s growth. For $0.10 the residents could now ride to Salt Lake City for an outing, for school or for work. More importantly, raw materials such as coal, lumber, brick and plaster could be shipped in and farm produce shipped out. In 1908 a switch was made from steam to electricity and the line became The Bamberger Electric Railroad, known by the citizens as the Bamberger. Service was discontinued in 1952. The building now occupied by the Bountiful Light & Power Company was used as a warehouse for goods to be shopped. The station itself was immediately in front of this building.

This is located at 198 S 200 W in Bountiful, Utah

They have a really cool vintage neon sign at the power company too.
